WHAT TO BRING

Hello everyone! August is here and with it we are expecting droves of Black fin tuna to invade the humps. This is usually the best month for numbers as well as size of blackfin tuna. It is not uncommon to have as many as 8 lines all reels screaming, hooked-up with 10-30 pound blackfins. This year, the mahi mahi have arrived late so we are also getting the best action of the season on slammer-sized bulls and cows. The typical trip to the offshore humps have been producing mahi from 15-30 pounds. The reef edge is also starting to heat up with schools of little tunnies on the deep wrecks. They are not the best to eat, but they are alot of fun to catch! Usually a nice larger premium fish is mixed into the fray, like a mahi mahi, sailfish, king mackerel, or monster black fin tuna. The reef/wreck trips are also producing large grouper and mutton snapper. The fishing is usually better closer to the full moon, so plan accordingly. The yellowtail and mangrove snappers are also biting well still and can be available on any trip, just ask.
